Nigger is the ninth studio album by rapper Nas. Nas had originally planned to put the project out in December, but according to close sources, the album has been rescheduled to release in February 2008. Nas told MTV News the first single will be released sometime in January.
L.A. Reid, chairman of Def Jam Records, has confirmed that Def Jam fully backs Nas and his decision on naming his album. The album's title has received support from Jay-Z, Bishop Lamont, Alicia Keys, LL Cool J, Rev Run, Common, Akon, Method Man, Lupe Fiasco, David Banner, GZA, Melle Mel and others. 50 Cent criticized Nas's choice of name for the album saying Nas is just going for "shock value" with the controversial album name. Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube have expressed their support for Nas' new album by offering to guest on the album.
